Ramco commenced trading in 1996 following the Government decision to cease selling surplus equipment through auctions. Competing Nationally Ramco were awarded one of the first contracts to handle the disposal of surplus miscellaneous equipment on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. Starting with a small team of just five, the business provided a high level of service, allowing it to grow into one of the UKs major surplus outlets now employing thirty people. A major fire at the Companys premises in 2001 nearly spelt disaster but resilience and determination saw the business up and running from alternative premises within four weeks. To date the Company has sold more than ten million pounds worth of surplus covering nearly fifty thousand line items
