The Napoleon Shop in Niche Business Directory

Having seen Waterloo (Rod Steiger as Napoleon, Christopher Plummer as Wellington) at an impressionable young age, I could never thereafter shake from my mind the splendour and drama I had witnessed. Over the years that followed, I moved into painting miniatures of the era, reading all I could, collecting prints, coins and stamps, all Napoleonic. When my family travelled to Europe in the early 70s, I made them visit Waterloo, where I bought my first Napoleonic toy soldier (still living in storage somewhere, his sword broken off unfortunately, but waiting for the next generation to play again). Every trip to Europe since (excepting my honeymoon, for such are the limits of glory) involved a revisit, just to see if anything changed. And Les Invalides, of course. Anyhow, at a certain point I came to realize how limited were the options for obtaining Napoleonic stuff. I cant afford $10,000 breastplates, and original swords, czapkas and so on, which left me frustrated somewhat. Since no one else was doing anything about it, and with the 200th anniversary of everything coming along, and with the advent of the web, I decided to try to reach out to the international community of Napoleonphiles, and offer things I would like to have, to others. The Napoleon Shoppe is, to date, unique. I dont know why, but there it is. I will continue to search out nifty ideas, and apply the great Napoleonic artwork to it. It is because I apply my personal history to the enterprise that I dont expect any fan will be disappointed. I make stuff that I want to have; I figure if I like it, so might others of the Old Guard. Currently, I can only do this by mailorder; there is no storefront, except this virtual one: dont physically visit the above address, ok? Dont be discouraged by that though; that is simply the result of a cashflow decision (I am better off putting my money into projects, than paying rent) plus the fact that not a lot of Napoleonic business is likely to show up in Canada. The benefit of the web is that this shouldng stop us, I hope. If you think The Napoleon Shoppe is a worthwhile endeavour, show your support. Even if you dont actually buy something (which would be great of course), send your ideas, or an encouraging word. Its appreciated. Finally, if you have any concerns with security, privacy and the like, put yourself in my shoes. I really have no interest in selling your name to anyone else, handing out your information, etc. etc. I want to make Napoleonic stuff and sell it. Because of the size of this enterprise, I have found merchant services on the net who help others like me to operate; I cant create my own webserver, bank etc. So for details on who I use, and what they have to say about privacy, go to this link. And for others with small businesses like mine, I recommend them; they are quite economical to use, if not free... and I have spent a lot of time comparison shopping, I assure you.
